To create a world class stroke support network which encompasses not only the survivor but also the caregiver and family. The impact of a stroke goes far beyond the survivor and success of recovery is also heavily dependent on caregiver and family. By taking a wholistic approach the hope is to bring help to the entire impacted group.
This we call 360 support.
Volunteers are needed throughout this support group, please join us to realize this vision.
Mission - Survivors
To be a resource for stroke survivors on their recovery journey. It is a site run by stroke survivors for stroke survivors. The key premise is that our recovery journey is life long with improvement possible at any stage. New recovery possibilities are being discovered all the time whether it be from exercise techniques, medicines, movement aides, brain function improvements, meditation, or medical procedures. In addition to these improvements a large part of recovery is interaction with other stroke survivors. It is extremely difficult if not impossible for non survivors to understand what the stroke survivor is feeling and going through. It is believed that discussion among stroke survivors lifts our spirits by having others understand our struggles. When our spirits are improved all is possible. In summary, it is stroke survivors helping stroke survivors.
We are now SurvivorS 4 SurvivorS Inc.
PEER SUPPORT GROUP will meet first Friday of each month at 10:00am
All stroke survivors are welcome.
